Reporting to the Managing Director of the Student-Athlete Resource Center (SARC), the Athletic Academic
Coach provides academic coaching, advising, analysis, and assessment to student-athletes. The coach also supports students in helping them understand California
State University (CSU) and San José State University (SJSU) requirements relating to their degree requirements and Mountain West Athletic Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletic requirements. The Athletic Academic Coach develops, coordinates, implements, and assesses academic support and other retention services and programs for student-athletes in accordance with University policies, NCAA, and athletic conference rules and regulations. The functions and responsibilities of this position include serving as a liaison to the coaching staff of assigned teams and assisting with the development and monitoring of academic support programs of the Gadway and YUH Academic Centers. |
