The Department of Accounting is searching for a probationary assistant or associate level professor to start Spring or Fall, 2018. California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Position is contingent on funding.

Minimum Education and Experience

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the doctorate must be completed prior to the beginning of the first semester. Mainstream professional certification with mainstream professional experience in accounting is required. Good verbal communication skills and excellent classroom presentation skills are essential for appointment.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for this position

This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Recruitment Preferences

Preference will be given to candidates who have work experience in their area of teaching interests. Preferred applicants will have a history of excellence in the classroom as well as demonstrated productivity in the areas of intellectual contributions and service.
