Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

Serves as the functional business analyst for Transfer Credit within the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Records module. Independently designs and builds articulation rules for transfer and test credit that are used for evaluation based on campus articulation agreements, Assist.org equivalencies, CollegeSource TES equivalencies, and other campus agreements. Maintains test credit rules, sets up new test ids, and external organization creation. Leads the coordination of the CSU Fully Online process from application to grade posting, collaborates with the Registrar’s Office, and serves as the campus representative for systemwide calls. Organizes and plans the schedule of systemwide reporting submission and dissemination of data to various offices, including Admissions, Registrar, and Extended University.

Assists other analysts with processing and project tasks. Responsible for keeping informed of student records and admissions regulations, PeopleSoft releases, and monitors module discussion groups. Recommends and implements solutions to manage processes in an efficient manner, to improve customer service, or to improve productivity. Assesses, evaluates, and implements functionality for Transfer Credit by evaluating available functionality from Oracle, analyzing the needs of the department, and collaborating with other campuses. Participates in the efforts for the development and evolution of business processes and the documentation of those processes, where procedures and guidelines may not exist. Works on continued maintenance of the system by implementing new setup, updating existing setup, running batch processes, adjusting queries, coordinating maintenance pack testing, reviewing security requests, and documenting. Troubleshoots reported system errors and works in collaboration with Application Services (Information Technology Services) to deliver a solution.

Works with ITS to automate processes that run overnight, recommends and tests enhancements with ITS and other business analysts in the department and across campus. Assists the document management area with testing and occasionally assists document management area with processing. Under guidance of the directors in Enrollment Management, ensures compliance with federal, state, and campus policies, including Assembly Bills, Senate Bills and CSU coded memos. Collaborates with Enrollment Management office end users and Articulation office to identify needs. Informs supervisor of project status, deviation from production goals, potential impact on other areas, and recommends solutions. Represents the Students Systems office at campus and statewide meetings.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Requirements of Position:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three years of experience in articulation, transfer, or related area in higher education.

Knowledge of Admissions and Records business practices, preferably in the California State University system. Knowledge of PeopleSoft query manager is preferred. Excellent verbal, written communication, and math skills. Ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple projects. Thorough knowledge of Admissions and Records and ability to implement system setup according to laws, regulations, and campus policy. Ability to research, analyze data, and provide results to leadership. Experience and proficiency using MS Office applications and experience with the following systems preferred: PeopleSoft, CollegeSource Transfer Evaluation System, Assist.org.

Hiring Range: $4,379 - $4,813 per month
