Salary Range: $5,273 - $9,537/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $5,273 -$6,035/Monthly)

 

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Director of Enrollment Management Technology (EMT), the Student Success Systems Analyst will serve as lead and oversee technical projects that are designed to promote and increase student success. Using a hands-on position approach, which requires a combination of project management, team facilitation, and systems analysis skills, the incumbent is responsible for cross-functional communication and system implementation involving multiple business and technical areas; ensures projects are customer-focused, integrated, and efficient; investigates and resolves technical issues, coordinates activities; and deliverables from inception through maintenance that are approved projects by Enrollment Services. In addition, the incumbent will troubleshoot problems, translate business requirements into system specifications to resolve technical issues, produce tangible deliverables in the form of project plans, issues lists, status reports, white paper analyses, recommendations, and prototypes, and ensure that deliverables are accurate and timely. Overall, the incumbent supports the ongoing development and maintenance of the University’s initiatives and will serve as the primary contact for the campus community relating to Student Success Systems, translating end users’ needs into business requirements in support of student success and the technological tools that support it.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college of university and/or the equivalent training and three years of professional work experience in project management and systems implementation of student or administration and/or advising systems.  Experience in building working business relationships across departments and project teams, including providing onsite in-person training in small and large groups. Experience in project coordination and team facilitation; initiating discovery meetings, gap analysis, fostering discussion, and maintaining key meeting outcomes. Knowledge in enterprise systems implementation and support.  A thorough understanding of systems development life cycles, maintenance support, and project deliverables. Knowledge of system development processes, including operational analysis and process flow. Knowledge of computer functionality, including user interfaces, reports, self-service user access, and batch processing. Requires a high degree of technical and functional knowledge, including the ability to translate business requirements into system specifications, organize complex projects, track and manage deliverables, and produce accurate results.  Ability to: effectively manage technical projects for a portfolio of partners; design and lead implementation strategy based on institutional structure and data availability; work with the partners technical staff, to extract and validate data; assist team in improving processes and developing scalable solutions; analyze partner data for validity and identify trends and statistical significance; and master the functionality of the Student Success platform and develop expertise in industry/product terrain. Ability to communicate constructively, orally, and in writing through written documentation. Ability to: produce and edit a variety of project-related documents using current software products; coordinate analysis and debugging of technical issues and recommend solutions; track progress and ensure resolutions; troubleshoot information system problems; multi-task in a modern, fast-paced systems development/implementation environment; handle multiple competing demands, prioritize tasks; and deliver results with minimal supervision. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Desired Qualifications: Experience working within or with the California State University System. Experience with Education Advisory Board (EAB) student success collaborative software or closely related advising software packages, PeopleSoft Student Administration ERP and related reporting tools.
