Job Summary

The Planned Giving Project Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing marketing strategies to support the university's planned giving initiatives. This position will work closely with both external partners and internal campus community to ensure that marketing efforts align with the university's goals for planned giving and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and implement planned giving project and marketing efforts, including the development and dissemination of marketing materials. Collaborate with campus partnerships to gather information and met deadlines.
  • Serve as a liaison between the university and community partners to promote planned giving opportunities.
  • Support/attend division related events.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex projects and multiple deadlines. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of project management practices, along with exemplary organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Express. Experience working with sensitive and confidential data.

Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to interpret and apply outcomes and information to propose and implement different courses of action. Ability to work with teams of faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. Ability to understand the culture of a university. Familiarity with administrative project management systems. Excellent collaborative skills and an ability to serve as a member of a team while working independently. Knowledge of estate planning, planned giving strategies, and donor engagement practices is highly desirable

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

• Equivalent to bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Project Management, or a related field and three years related experience required.

• Experience in a higher education environment is preferred

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,598 - $6,126 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,598 - $8,318 per month.

Benefits

Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation, and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Hybrid work is available as an option. This position requires a minimum of two days a week in the office, with additional in-office days as needed. For the first six months, daily in-office attendance is required.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
