Job Summary

*This position is on a 10/12 Pay Plan, which means working 10 months per year (August 1 – May 31), yet having salary paid out over 12 months.

Reporting to the Director of the Accessible Education Center (AEC) and receiving work lead direction from the Associate Director (AD), the Testing Accommodations Support Analyst (TASA) works independently within established guidelines using knowledge and judgment to apply existing procedures to support the Accessible Education Center Testing Program. The Testing Accommodations Support Analyst assists the Services and Accommodations Support Specialist (SASS) in providing test accommodations to students with disabilities, alternative media requests, supports utilization of accessible technology, and supports the AEC in the implementation and delivery of auxiliary accommodations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Associate Director and Services and Accommodations Support Specialist in the coordination and administration of all university required exams, both standardized and classroom. Carries out assignments, plans work and independently resolves sensitive problems that may arise, while referring broader implications to the AD
  • Administers academic exams with accommodations to students with disabilities in compliance with ADA, Section 504 and Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 while maintaining the integrity of the testing program standards
  • Collaborates with the Services and Accommodations Support Specialist, to coordinate and assist with the complexity of testing accommodations to include, but not limited to: test preparation and return, scheduling of educational assistants, preparing hardware and software access and accessible technology equipment
  • Supports the AEC in the implementation and delivery of auxiliary accommodations (e.g. readers/scribes, educational assistants) and works with the AEC staff as necessary to support delivery of the requested accommodation(s) as directed
  • Participates in the data collection process as needed and compiles AEC accommodations data as requested
  • Collaborate with the Alternative Media Specialist to analyze all requested test materials in order to determine the most effective means for producing alternative media/format(s), ensuring equal access for individuals with disabilities

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to deal with sensitive and challenging administrative and interpersonal issues in a positive, proactive manner
  • Thorough knowledge of methods, procedures and practices; English grammar, business writing, punctuation and spelling
  • Strong oral communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Ability to compose and appropriately format correspondence and reports
  • General knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations applicable to accommodations for individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of accessible technology and its applications
  • Ability to carry out a variety of complex assignments without detailed instructions
  • Ability to multitask, think creatively in new situations, high attention to detail, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to critically analyze all work to be performed
  • Ability to understand standard office procedures
  • Ability to learn new technologies and production methods
  • Ability to determine the most appropriate format to be produced for the student including format structure: page layout, font style, quality, and size prior to conversion
  • Knowledge of standard formatting procedures utilized to create accessible documents with Adobe Software
  • Knowledge of accessible technology utilized by the blind and visually impaired populations (Jaws, Voice Over, Zoom)
  • Knowledge of various document readers and ability to walk students through the features
  • Knowledge of Dragon Naturally Speaking

 

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training
  • Two (2) years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a college-level institution working with students with disabilities is strongly preferred
  • One (1) year of experience with accessible technology

 

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist – 10/12
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,500/month - $4,705/month
CSU Salary Range: $3,832/month - $6,932/month
