The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, invites applications for one full-time, Post-Doctoral Teaching Scholar appointment as a Full-Time Lecturer starting in August 2026 for a two-year appointment for AY 26/27 and AY 27/28. This appointment comes with the possibility of a one-year extension to AY 28/29 contingent on budget, department need, and satisfactory evaluations. Responsibilities include teaching core and elective industrial engineering courses. This primarily teaching development program seeks to attract and prepare outstanding individuals with completed PhDs for a successful career in engineering academia by gaining teaching experience and training at a premier teaching-oriented engineering institution. While the selected participant will primarily engage in teaching activities in core industrial engineering courses appropriate to their preparation, they will also be supported through mentorship by experienced engineering educators and through the University's Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology. Responsibilities include teaching core and elective industrial engineering courses. Examples of courses include enterprise analytics and database systems, operations research and management, statistical decision-making and quality control, production planning and control systems, process and system simulation, facilities design and warehousing, applications of enterprise analytics, and supply chain and logistics management. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive teaching excellence and student success.

This apprenticeship position will be hired at the rank of Lecturer B with an anticipated annual salary of $74,652 paid in 12 monthly installments of $6,221.
