The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $75,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Work Arrangements
Flexibility to telecommute two days a week, with three days on-site at the main headquarters in Long Beach, California.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Talent Management Specialist to contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of systemwide Talent Management programs. The role provides analytical, operational, and project support across all focus areas, including but not limited to employee experience, workforce readiness, career mobility, performance management, talent acquisition standards, and workforce planning and analytics.
This position is open to current CSU employees only.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Talent Management, the Talent Management Specialist will perform duties as outlined below:
Analytical and Research Tasks
-Support Talent Management and Organizational Development initiatives by researching, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to employee experience, readiness, mobility, performance, recruitment, and workforce planning.
-Compile and summarize survey results, stakeholder feedback, and supporting documentation to prepare reports, insights, and trend summaries.
-Conduct research and benchmarking on best practices, frameworks, and emerging trends in Talent Management and workforce planning.
-Assist in the development and maintenance of Talent Management metrics, data definitions, and analytical tools to support systemwide programs.
-Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities for process and program improvement based on workforce and program data.
Program Development and Operational Support
-Support systemwide Talent Management programs by developing, updating, and maintaining tools, templates, guides, surveys, and resources for campus and systemwide use.
-Refine and enhance program materials by incorporating research findings, stakeholder input, and best practices.
-Coordinate and track project workflows using Smartsheet and related systems to support timely completion of Talent Management deliverables.
-Prepare reports, analyses, summaries, and materials for leadership updates, presentations, and program reporting.
-Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of systemwide frameworks, tools, and processes related to recruitment, readiness, mobility, performance, and workforce planning.
Project Coordination and Workflow Management
-Coordinate Talent Management project activities, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams.
-Monitor project progress, identify issues or risks, and support adjustments to timelines or work plans as needed.
-Develop and maintain project documentation including project briefs, status updates, action items, and implementation trackers.
-Support information sharing by gathering updates from internal partners and campuses and preparing summarized project insights for the Senior Director.
-Assist with project planning by organizing tasks, tracking dependencies, and supporting resource planning activities.
-Support the consistent use of project management tools, templates, and documentation practices across Talent Management initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement
-Collect documentation, data, and feedback from campuses to support systemwide assessment, planning, and design efforts.
-Support working groups, pilots, and consultation sessions related to Talent Management initiatives.
-Summarize stakeholder feedback and themes to support decision making, reporting, and continuous improvement.
-Assist in the development of communications, guidance materials, and implementation resources for campus partners.
Systems, Data, and Content Management
-Manage and maintain Talent Management data, trackers, and information systems that support analysis and reporting.
-Ensure accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and version control of Talent Management data, tools, and resources.
-Integrate data from multiple sources to support dashboards, reports, and analytical deliverables.
-Maintain organized digital content libraries, Workvivo, Quick Suites, SharePoint sites, and knowledge bases supporting systemwide Talent Management frameworks and tools.
Qualifications
This position requires:
-A bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of 3 years of related experience providing analytical, project, or program coordination support in a professional setting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
-Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects, managing workflows and coordinating multiple tasks in a fast-paced, professional office setting.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) in an office setting.
-Proven experience in planning and coordinating meetings, workshops and program related activities in support of strategy and events.
-Strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize workloads, manage resources, and meet competing deadlines in a dynamic environment, all with keen attention to detail.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills that demonstrate professionalism, discretion and tact.
-Demonstrated ability to draft correspondence, edit, and prepare documents in an appropriate format.
-Excellent critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.
-Proven collaborative and negotiation skills.
-Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and privileged information with strict confidentiality.
-Use of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs), and productivity tools, such as Smartsheet.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in Human Resources, Talent management or Talent Acquisition.
-Experience in a higher education setting.
-Knowledge of CSU operations and system.
-Knowledge of various data management systems, including SharePoint, One Drive, etc.
-Experience using creative design tools Adobe InDesign, Publisher, Acrobat Professional, Visio and Publisher.
-Proven experience in planning and coordinating conferences.
-Proficiency with PageUp Applicant Tracking System.
-Ability to maintain, edit and update content on websites.
