Department

Are you an experienced labor and employee relations professional looking for meaningful, stable work that goes beyond the bottom line? Cal State Fullerton invites you to join our Labor Relations team within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence as a Labor/Employee Relations and Compliance Manager (Administrator II) — a pivotal role at one of the largest and most inclusive universities in California.

At CSUF, your expertise directly supports a campus community of over 43,000 students and thousands of faculty and staff who are united by a shared mission: transforming lives through the power of education. This is not just a job — it is an opportunity to serve a public institution where your work has lasting impact on real people and the communities they come from. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted and strategic advisor on all labor and employee relations matters to campus leadership, faculty, staff, and union representatives providing interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, investigating workplace complaints and grievances, and representing the University in coordination with the Chancellor's Office and University Counsel in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. You will also play a meaningful role in building a healthier workplace culture by designing and delivering training programs on collective bargaining, employee relations, and workplace conduct. Other duties as assigned.

What makes this opportunity stand out:

• Mission-Driven Work — Every decision you make supports a public university committed to student success, equity, and community impact. Your work protects both employees and the institution that serves them.

• Stability and Job Security — As a California state employer, CSUF offers the kind of long-term career stability that is increasingly rare. You will be part of an institution with deep roots in Orange County that has served the region for over 60 years.

• Collaborative Culture — Work alongside dedicated HR professionals, university counsel, senior administrators, and campus partners in an environment that values collegial problem-solving over the high-pressure pace of the corporate world.

• Work-Life Balance — CSUF is committed to supporting the whole employee, offering flexible practices, wellness resources, and a campus culture that genuinely respects the balance between professional and personal life.

If you are passionate about labor relations, equity in the workplace, and the meaningful work of a public university, we encourage you to join the Titan community.
