Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Director of the Health, Wellness and Recreation Center, the Business Services Coordinator performs technical, financial, administrative, and operational support of the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center (HWRC). This role applies to established policies and procedures to support budget tracking, revenue processing, daily sales reconciliation, standard financial reporting, procurement workflows, payroll processing, human resources coordination, and retail/member sales support. The coordinator works collaboratively across the department to support program managers, maintain accurate financial and administrative records and support day-to-day operational functions. This position provides lead work direction to student assistants and supports a range of customer service functions, including HWRC member-facing services and programming. This role requires a professional and compassionate approach to sensitive student interactions.
The position supports the implementation of an integrated model of health and well-being, contributes to student development efforts, and assists with revenue-generating programming within the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center (HWRC), opening in 2026.
In collaboration with departmental staff, the Business Services Coordinator supports a welcoming, student-centered, and well-coordinated holistic wellness environment in the HWRC.
This position requires flexible schedule as events dictate including some weekends and evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations, Revenue Management, and Administrative Program Support Perform daily sales reconciliation including cash, credit card, employee credit, vault/change counts, and bank deposit preparation in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist in monitoring departmental budgets and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy in revenue and expense tracking.
- Coordinate monthly audits of assigned expenses and resolve routine discrepancies, referring complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Support retail operations, locker sales, membership revenue tracking, and routine revenue/spending monitoring.
- Utilize accounting systems to generate standard monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reconciliations for purchases and transactions using established formats.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of progressive experience with finance and/or accounting systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty.
- Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.
- Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
- Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Required CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
- Preferred to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
- Preferred knowledge in Recreation Management Software "Fusion" and “Connect2”.
- Preferred student leadership or supervision experience.
