Job/Department Summary for SSP-IA:
Working under close supervision of the Senior Coordinator, and Senior Director of Recreational Sports, the Intramural Sports Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the collegiate intramural sports, esports/gaming, and youth programs in the Recreational Sports Department. In addition, the incumbent will assess, maintain, and further develop the Intramural Sports program. During the summer, this position will be responsible for the coordination and operations of the department summer recreational programs for children. The incumbent is often evaluated on the end results of their work assignments and the assignments of others.
Employee will function, in a trainee capacity for approximately six to twelve months. Upon successful completion of the training, the incumbent is expected to be able to perform the duties of the Student Services Professional I, Range B.
Job/Department Summary for SSP II:

Responsibilities include: coordination of intramural sports activities, special events, the esports/gaming space/program, and youth recreation (summer camps), ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and executive memorandums pursuant to the support of students and children, monitoring program budgets and staff, serving as a contributing member within campus recreation, participating in strategic planning, and representing Recreational Sports on selected committees, boards, and task forces. This position deals with complex, sensitive situations, interacting with college-age students and youth. This position works regularly at night, with occasional early morning, and weekend hours are required, as circumstances dictate.
Required Education and Experience for SSP-IA:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Required Education and Experience for SSP II:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
AND
Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
*A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.
Preferences for both SSP-IA and SSP II:
- Experience coaching, advising, and/or supervising student-athletes.
- A bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
- Previous experience in recreational sports programming in a collegiate setting preferred. Must have strong knowledge of several sports’ rules and preference may be given to those with officiating experience.
- Able to handle fluctuating volume and intensity of business, including crowds and occasionally difficult customers.
- Previous experience with summer camps or youth programming.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm
CSU Classification Salary Range for SSP-IA: $49,800 - $60,912 per year.
CSU Classification Salary Range for SSP II: $60,996 - $86,736 per year.
