Student Assistant – Systemwide Philanthropy
The CSU Office of the Chancellor is seeking a responsible Student Assistant to provide clerical and marketing support twenty hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. When classes are not in session, such as during spring and summer breaks, the Student Assistant may be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week.
The Office of Systemwide Philanthropy provides leadership and support to CSU campuses in advancing philanthropic efforts, including donor relations, professional development, scholarship programs, alumni relations, and other systemwide initiatives.
Position Information:
The anticipated salary for this position is $16.90 per hour.
The salary range for this classification is $16.90 to $24.00 per hour.
This position is temporary, part-time, and does not include benefits.
This is an 'On-Site Only' position located at the main headquarters in Long Beach, California.
Part-Time Employees are not eligible to telecommute.
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, the Student Assistant provides administrative and project support to the Office of Systemwide Philanthropy, including the CSU Foundation, CSU Alumni Council, and general department operations. Projects include data entry, communications, event preparation, and general administrative support.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, coordination, and office support tasks.
- Draft, edit, and prepare communications and documents for review.
- Assist with data entry, record maintenance, and basic reporting as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
The student must be enrolled in at least six units at a CSU campus. This position requires basic experience in an office environment; strong attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information with discretion, basic knowledge of general office procedures and standard office equipment; basic working knowledge of current software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to lift/move 25 lbs. or more; ability to learn and perform assigned work; ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities; dependable and mature; ability to work independently, and good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with fundraising or advancement teams.
-Experience in university, nonprofit, public administration, communications, or business environments.
-Experience with data entry, administrative support, or customer service.
-Experience using spreadsheets, databases, or CRM systems.
