Salary:

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. See the Faculty Salaries At-a-Glance guide for more information.

Position Summary:

The Kinesiology Department in the College of Communication and Education is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2024-25 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Bachelor’s Degree for physical activity courses (100 level) and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field for all other courses. Note: some 100-level courses (e.g., yoga) may require additional certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching
  • Bilingual candidates will be given preference

Responsibilities:

Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching undergraduate courses. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

The Department:

The Department of Kinesiology is member of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) and is National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Educationally Recognized Program. We are a learning community of 12 full-time faculty, numerous part-time faculty, and approximately 600 major students. Department faculty hold national and international leadership positions and are known for excellence in teaching and applied scholarship as well as professional service.
