Job/Department Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director Facilities and Projects, the Facilities Project Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating work of one or more small groups or crews consisting of skilled multi-trade crafts workers and assistants. This position is a working supervisor who is skilled in one or more trades, including foundation work, interior and exterior walls, framing and ceilings, roofing, installation of insulation, HVAC and plumbing systems; electrical maintenance and repair work including work on low voltage control systems. The Facilities Project Supervisor coordinates and supervises the work of crews primarily involved in the construction and renovation of various facilities and structures, in addition to maintenance and repair on projects. The incumbent also provides comprehensive technical project leadership; acts as a liaison with customers; coordinates job estimates; and ensures supplies and materials are available for jobs.

University Housing (UH) is a complex department consisting of approximately 12 facilities employees working various shifts and providing diverse administrative and operational services across 6 residential halls and a 25 building apartment building community.

Required Education and Experience:

These abilities normally would be acquired through two years of experience working as a journey level crafts worker in one or more building trades including one year in a lead/supervisory capacity and demonstrated achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to those acquired through the completion of an applicable apprenticeship program.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Bilingual
  • Ability to estimate cost, time and materials of maintenance, repair and renovation work; maintain records.
  • Must be able to schedule and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to the frequently changing priorities.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity.

Time Base: Full-time- 1.0

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm, Summer - Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm. 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $86,040 - $109,056 per year.

Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Driver's License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a post hire respiratory Medical Evaluation.

A baseline audiogram is required for this position
