The Position: Assistant Tenure-Track Professor in Business Analytics

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Science). Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be well-qualified to teach both undergraduate and graduate-level data/business Analytics courses, contribute to the development and enhancement of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program (MSBA) curriculum, teach other Information Systems courses as needed by the department, publish in high-quality academic journals, and fulfill service obligation as appropriate. Research and teaching interests include, but are not limited to, the foundations of data analytics (e.g., deep neural networks, large language models, natural language processing), data-wrangling skills (e.g., programming languages such as Python, SQL DML), or programming libraries (e.g., Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

The Department of Information Systems, Finance, and Accounting is one of three departments within the College of Business (https://www.csuchico.edu/cob/). As part of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, the department offers three degree options: Management Information Systems, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics. The department also offers two graduate-level degrees: (1) the Business Analytics Option in the MBA and (2) the MSBA. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and enhancement of our graduate program curricula.
